The Challenge
A project for
Design-focused home accessories brand, Block Design, well-known in the interiors market for their iconic peg board, asked us to deliver a new shopify website that would grow their brand among consumers. Having launched in 2000, the majority of their business was via wholesale, predominantly to independent retailers and art and design-focused gift shops.
We chose Shopify to build upon
Their existing VisualSoft store was originally developed to sell direct to end-user, however the platform was limiting their ability to scale in the consumer marke
We migrated their store to Shopify, which would allow Block to better showcase their product range including simple-to-shop bundles, as well as support an improved, dynamic mobile commerce experience for the user.

Our design approach
Block wanted to represent their brand as strongly online as in their product design.
As part of the brief, Block wanted to better communicate the personality and authenticity of their brand and products, and our team delivered a more intelligent, cleaner design aesthetic, more representative of their Scandi influences, using colour and bold shapes to highlight the brand's strong design creds.


The Results
It was all about building conversion through site speed and consumer confidence.
Since launch, the migration and redesign immediately translated into improved performance, with a GTMetrix Grade A rating and a conversion rate uplift of 20% (versus the same period the previous year).
